JIM BREUER (SPECIAL EVENT)

The Improv in Brea is proud to present SNL's JIM BREUER on his 2009 "The Family Man Tour" November 19th - 22nd! (Breuer is back at NBC, developing a sitcom project based loosely on his own life!) November 19th - 22nd the Improv in Brea, CA welcomes comedian Jim Breuer. Jim's one hour special "Let's Clear the Air" premiered on Comedy Central July 25th to rave reviews. Jim has come a long way from his 4 year stint on "Saturday Night Live". Yes, "Goat Boy" is all grown up, and gets up close and personal with parenthood. The only thing "Half Baked" in the Breuer household is the brownies. The days of "Heavy Metal Man" have given way to the heavy eyelids of a family man giving it his all. Don't be misled; whether you are a parent, thinking about being a parent or know a parent, this show will make you laugh so hard, you'll cry. Breuer's consistent whit and creativity, combined with his hilarious physical expressions, keep him on the forefront of comedy landing him a national Pizza Hut advertising campaign. Tune into "Jim Breuer Unleashed" on Sirius/XM satellite radio. Leave the kids at home, you deserve a good laugh. If you're lucky, you'll get a little goat . And the July 25 premiere of his second one-hour special for Comedy Central, tellingly titled "Let's Clear The Air," proves that his mission is paying off. Breuer drew one million viewers to the Saturday night airing, which earned a strong 1.18 rating with the cable network's prime 18 to 34 male demographic. His draw was 19% higher with all viewers 18 to 49 than programs in the same time slot over the last four weeks and more than doubled the 18 to 34 male viewers tuning in at that time over the same period. "Let's Clear The Air" retained 99% of the audience watching the last quarter hour of the show that aired before the special and impressively retained 100% of the viewers over the full hour of his show. What do the numbers indicate? Comedy fans who enjoyed Breuer as a cast member of "Saturday Night Live" and his role in the cult hit film "Half Baked" are also captivated by his more mature (yet still just as funny) topics of today such as life as a suburban dad with his wife and three daughters and caring for his aging parents. Known for his wild, outrageous and provocative brand of humor, Breuer proves that his comedic observations and antic physical and voice comedy can be just as cutting edge and hilarious as his hit "SNL" character "Goat Boy" and his popular heavy metal humor. The comic who was named one of the 100 Greatest Stand-Ups of All Time had stuck close to home over the last decade as he raised his daughters and hosted his daily "Jim Breuer Unleashed" satellite radio show on Sirius. He began clearing the air with the triumphant debut of his new routines at The Comedy Festival in Las Vegas some two years ago and has since delighted packed audiences of all ages as he hit the road again on his college "Breuniversity" tour and subsequent "Family Man" tour. "Let's Clear The Air" hit the streets the following Tuesday, July 28, as a DVD release via Comedy Central Entertainment with more than 25 minutes of bonus material that includes such never-before-seen footage as a photo shoot with Breuer and his "Fireside Chat with Dad." Breuer has also just been cast in the upcoming live-action comedy film "The Zookeeper" that stars Kevin James and Rosario Dawson with Breuer, Sylvester Stallone, Cher, Adam Sandler, Nick Nolte, Jon Favreau, Judd Apatow and others providing voices for animals who advise the movie's zookeeper hero on how to win his true love. Coming soon is also the documentary film he has made, "More Than Me," in which Breuer explores caring for his elderly father with love, sensitivity and (of course) rich humor.
